About Andrew A. Brief, MD, FAAOS
Dr. Andrew Brief is proud to bring his experience and expertise in orthopedics to the Ridgewood Orthopedic Group. He is a board certified orthopedic surgeon specializing in adult and pediatric foot and ankle reconstruction. He also specializes in the care and management of sports injuries, complex fractures, non-unions, and arthritis. He is among the first surgeons in the state of New Jersey to employ cutting-edge techniques like platelet rich plasma injections, stem cell bone grafting, cartilage restoration techniques, total ankle replacement and Cartiva implant. Dr. Brief has also designed and innovated several orthopedic implants that are FDA approved and used internationally. This includes the Nextremity Solutions InCore implant for bunion correction and the Extremity Medical OMNI Lisfranc system for midfoot injuries (www.nextremitysolutions/incore) and (www.extremitymedical.com/lower-extremity/omni-plating-system).
Dr. Brief previously practiced in Englewood and Teaneck, NJ. He is fellowship trained in foot and ankle surgery at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City. Dr. Brief did his orthopedic internship and residency training at the NYU-Hospital for Joint Diseases. He attended medical school at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in Bronx, NY and graduated college from Cornell University in Ithaca, NY. He hails originally from West Nyack, NY.
Dr. Brief has published multiple research papers in leading orthopedic journals, and has presented his research findings at several national orthopedic conferences. In private practice, he continues to pursue his academic and research interests with his mentors and via the design and implementation of new orthopedic surgical equipment and techniques.
