About Brian J. DePalma, MD

Dr. De Palma studied in the prestigious Integrated Business and Engineering honors program at Lehigh University as an undergraduate, and worked in management consulting afterwards prior to transitioning to a career in medicine.  He attended Robert Wood Johnson Medical School at Rutgers University where he was one of the top students in his class, being elected first ballot to the Alpha Omega Alpha (AOA) medical honor society.  Subsequently he completed his training in Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Maryland Medical Center and world famous R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center in Baltimore, MD where he was selected to be the administrative Chief Resident.

 

After residency, Dr. De Palma went on to one more year of subspecialty specific fellowship training in Hip and Knee Arthroplasty at Wake Forest University in North Carolina through Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.  There he gained invaluable experience in primary and revision surgery including contemporary techniques like the Direct Anterior Approach to hip replacement, minimally invasive surgery and robotic assistance.  Over the years he has published numerous scientific research articles contributing to the advancement of Orthopaedic Surgery.

 

Dr. De Palma was born and raised locally in Bergen County and is pleased to be able to help provide orthopedic care to his community.
